BJP broadside on Congress' save democracy campaign

Published on:

State general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vinod Gotiya said that the save democracy campaign shows the ugly side of the Congress party.

Gotiya asked that where did the brokerage of 360 crore, taken while purchasing Augasta helicopters, go. Italy has already punished two responsible officers for giving the brokerage in the deal, he added. He also said that it has been established that the brokerage was given and it must have reached in the hands of the person who can take a decision in this matter.

He further alleged that the Manohan Singh was the Prime Minister for 10 years, but he did not take decisions on his own. Thus the situation points towards the Gandhi family, he added.

He further said that the democracy died on the day when Indira Gandhi declared emergency after the decision of Allahabad High Court came. He further alleged that Indira Gandhi killed democracy by passing the position of Prime Minister and party president to her successors. If the Congress was committed to democracy it wouldn’t have announced Rahul Gandhi as the future party president.

Gotiya further said that the Indian Democracy is not that weak that it will fall part with an enquiry on one family for its financial irregularity. He further asked that if it is wrong to expose corruption the murder of democracy. It is the right of the people to know where their hard earned money went, he added. In reality the democracy will only be saved when the case of bribe taken in the Helicopter deal will be exposed.
