Bharatiya Janata Party has attacked the opposition Congress party with allegation of ‘love jihad’, as a man who was seen in pictures with several Congress leaders, recently was arrested in connection to raping and blackmailing a minor girl in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh.
The man, Mohd Ali Ansari alias Sikandar Khan was arrested by police on Saturday in Satna on charges of sexually exploiting a minor girl (16) by filing her in obscene videos.
Ahead of by-polls the rape of minor girl in Satna continues to ripple politics and On Monday, the members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha protested in Ujjain and also had a scuffle with the police personnel.
Kolgawan police had arrested the Sikandar (40), a native of Pannilal Chowk who runs a cyber café in the city on the complaint of the minor girl. The girl had told the police that the man posed as Sameer Singh and befriended her on Facebook and took her to his farmhouse one day, raped her after making her a drink laced with sedatives.
The man also filmed the heinous act and later kept sexually exploiting the girl while threatening her to making the video viral. The girl alleged that Sikandar even wanted to push her into flesh trade and then she decided to seek help from police.
The man was arrested and booked under sections of Prevention of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) and sent him to police custody after producing him in a court, Superintendent of Police Satna Riyaz Iqbal said.
In a late evening press briefing, the police in Satna revealed that the accused functioned under four names –Ateeq, Sameer, Sikandar and Ginny Khan and was found in possession of fake letter heads of BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, MPs Reeti Pathak and Ganesh Singh. Singed by women, the accused had blank cheques worth Rs 50 lakh.
The man has several cases registered against him in four different police stations of Satna, said the police. It also emerged that the man posing as a Hindu had married daughter of a former senior government officer and took huge amounts of money to divorce her later on.
Sikandar is said to be involved with half a dozen girls and used to lend money on interest as well. He also used to provide reservation tickets using fake letter heads of senior leaders.
The police will produce Sikandar in the court with the plea of increasing his remand, said the SP.
Meanwhile, the BJP state president VD Sharma and minister Vishwas Sarang in a press briefing on Sunday called it a love jihad and questioned former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh’s connection to the man. To add, Sikandar posing as a Congress leader is seen with several Congress leaders including Singh in various old photos. “Such incidents won’t be tolerated at any cost and strict action should be taken against the accused,” said Sharma.
ABVP too had protested in Satna on Sunday. However, Congress unit in Satna has distanced it from the man.
Congress spokesperson Manak Agrawal told that the man in question has nothing to do with the party and was not even a primary member of the party. “Anyone can stand besides leaders and pose for photographs that doesn’t mean they are connected to these leaders,” contested Agrawal.
