The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced Bodh Singh Bhagat as its candidate from Balaghat (Scheduled Tribes) parliamentary constituency of the State.
“BJP State president Narendra Singh Tomar confirmed the candidature while Bhagat submitted nomination papers today,” the saffron party’s State media in-charge Hitesh Vajpayee said here.
Saturday is the last day for submitting papers for this phase. State Farmers’ Welfare and Agricultural Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen’s wife and daughter were also strong contenders for a ticket from this tribal-dominated constituency.
