Known for his adverse remarks on RSS, Madhya Pradesh Minister, Govind Singh, on Tuesday, claimed Pragya was a common girl in early life but the BJP and RSS radicalised and spoilt her.
Singh, who hails from the same Lahar town in Bhind district from where Pragya Thakur belongs and spent her formative years, spoke to media persons and claimed that Pragya Thakur was a simple girl in childhood but the RSS and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) came in touch with her only to spoil the girl. “The two outfits inculcated criminal mindsets, communalism and Hindu-Muslim hatred inside the girl,” said the Lahar MLA.
Saying Pragya Thakur was not responsible for her aggressive ideology, the Kamal Nath Government’s Minister said it was all the fault of the RSS and BJP. He even accused RSS of always engaging in Shadyantra (conspiracy), Singh claimed it was actually Rashtriya Shadyantra Sangh.
Notably, Pragya Thakur, during her college days, came in contact with the RSS and later started campaigning for the BJP as well. She had made a name for her as an orator and religious preacher until 2008 when her name figured in Malegaon blasts and she landed in custody of Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS).
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan who had kicked up a row with an adverse remark on late Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare reached Bhopal on Tuesday and met BJP candidate Pragya Thakur and wished her good luck for election.
“I extended greeting and good luck to Pragya Thakur ji as she is known to me for years,” Mahajan told the media at BJP head office in Bhopal. “I am sure the public here would make her victorious with good margin and Bhopal seat would also contribute to the formation of our Government in New Delhi,” said Mahajan.
