Celebrations broke out at the State Congress headquarters Indira Bhawan on Sunday as the grand alliance comprising the Janata Dal – United (JD-U), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress posted a massive win in the Bihar assembly polls. The Congress leaders in enthusiasm lost no time in crediting party vice-president Rahul Gandhi for it, hailing him as the "architect" of the Grand Alliance.
Hundreds of party workers thronged the Congress office amid bursting of firecrackers and beating of drums besides sweets were distributed.
Several leaders including PC Sharma, Mahila Congress State president Mandi Chouhan, Youth Congress state president Kunal Chowdhry, Corporators and others joined party workers in the celebrations at the State party headquarters.
Meanwhile, a continuous flow of enthused Congress workers and vehicles parked outside the party office caused a traffic jam on link Road, which was later cleared by the traffic police.
Some senior party leaders could be seen urging rapturous Congress workers to celebrate outside due to overcrowding in the office premises.
Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress president Kunal Chowdhry while talking to The Pioneer said, “The Bihar assembly results have shown that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fake popularity is declining and people do not want his party to form the government. This is just the beginning. The BJP will be destroyed in the coming times.”
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson Dipti Singh hailed the Bihar election results as the ‘victory of pluralism, secularism and democracy’ and ‘rejection of the divisive and intolerant forces’ that were sought to be unleashed in the recent past.
Former Chairman of MPCC Minority Department Mohammed Saleem said the success of grand alliance in Bihar is a victory of secular forces over the “divisive agenda” of BJP. It is the victory of secular forces over Modi-ism, he added.
