With an aim to spread a message of keeping tourist places clean and green across the State, a bicycle rally was organised at Sair Sapata on the third day of the inaugural function of Tourism Year 2015-16.
Mountain bicycle were used in the rally, which are eco-friendly and are better suited for clean and green environment. The bicycle rally started at Sair Sapata and passing through Shahpura, Kamla Park, Sadar Manzil, Shaheed Nagar area of Old city and VIP road, culminated at the boat club.
After the bicycle rally, a bike rally of Harley Davidson was flagged off by Tourism department Secretary Hariranjan Roa, which ended in Indore. The bike rally was inaugurated at Sair Sapata and after a brief halt at Highway Treat Dodi, culminated in Indore.
In the rally, 24 bikers with Harley Davidson participated. These bikers will be popularising the tourism year. Mehar band performed at the Boat Club in the evening. The band presented film and other songs.
Folk dance programme was organised at around 7 pm and later in the evening, the audience enjoyed scintillating fireworks at Boat Club. The use of fireworks caused fire in the nearby jungles and the fire fighting vehicles immediately reached the site and doused the fire.
