A play that showcases a cruel society, ‘Bibi Sahiba,’ was staged at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum. The play was performed here on Friday under the regular event ‘Abhinayan’.

The play was directed by Gurinder Makaana and Suvidha Duggal. This drama begins with parents donating their daughter to the religious institution ‘Dera’ out of greed for money.

Earlier the daughter felt like the dera is a paradise. Initially the things happening there were not understood by her and so she ignored most of them. So after some time, she also finds herself becoming a part of this world, where she finds herself stuck into physical abuse, drinking alcohol, and many kinds of fatal situations.

So she now wants to get out of this web, but how she could not understand. But she does not give up on courage and self-confidence and finally succeeds in getting out and with this the drama ends.

Bibi Sahiba is all about the metamorphism of an innocent girl depicting the cruel change in the perspective of thoughts, swinging the society through the medium of religious faiths and enjoying the lusty materials including the atrocities against the mankind.

The era of modern sciences and intellect is thrown away into so called ‘Deras’ where the evil spirits are grooming under the shelter of impersonators of religious streams is being showcased in a befitting and theatrical manner touching the deep nerve of the fairer sex.

The play was based on the principles of natyashashtra, which explains the physical and aesthetic tools to elevate a live performance on stage. It was highly appreciated by the audience.
