The commercial area of the State capital TT Nagar provided helping hand on Saturday when the Bhopal Youth Congress activists moved there to collect funds for the flood victims of Uttarakhand.

The Bhopal Youth Congress activists gathered to support the Uttarakhand by raising fund for the victims. During the collection drive the members collected around `15,280 and a demand draft of the same amount was made and later sent to the Prime Minister Relief Fund at New Delhi.

The fund collection drive was launched by Bhopal Youth Congress President Manoj Shukla and Bhopal District Congress Committee President PC Sharma.

The party workers were carrying donation box and banners appealing the shopkeepers and the customers to help the flood victims. The traders willingly participated in donation for the noble cause.

While speaking with the media person, PC Sharma expressed concern over the irresponsible attitude of BJP as they are trying to politicize the issue of the natural disaster. The BJP should work towards helping the flood victims instead of trying to gain political mileage from the issue. The victims are facing the deadliest disasters of their life and the BJP is not willing to help them but are ready to give political colour to the disaster.

Shukla told that UPA government has taken all the measures to provide help to the flood victims and huge number of personnel from Army, Navy and Air Force are deployed to fasten the relief work.
