The State capital recorded maximum day temperature of the season at 44.6 degree Celsius on Friday, trend of increasing temperatures continued to be witnessed making the weather conditions extreme.
The weather conditions are favourable for normal monsoon and are likely to arrive in the city on the normal time in the month of June. Few regions have recorded heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours Khachrod recorded 5 cm of rainfall and Dhar recorded 1 cm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
Ujjain, Indore and Rewa divisions recorded light showers at few places. Chambal and Hoshangabad divisions have witnessed significant increase in temperature.
Thundery activities and light showers are likely to be witnessed in Shahdol and Rewa division and Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Panna and Damoh districts in the next 24 hours.
Hoshangabad, Damoh and Nowgong recorded the highest day temperature at 45 degree Celsius. Hot night weather conditions are likely to be witnessed in Sheopur and Damoh.
Warning of heat wave conditions have been issued by Met department in the next 24 hours and regions which are likely to witness heat wave conditions are Chambal, Sagar and Hoshangabad divisions and Rewa, Sidhi, Umaria, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Rajgarh, Khandwa, Shajapur, Gwalior and Datia districts.
On Friday the day temperature was recorded 4 degree Celsius above normal temperature and night temperature was recorded at 27.6 degree Celsius.
Among the major cities Indore recorded day temperature at 41.6 degree Celsius and night temperature at 23.5 degree Celsius, Gwalior recorded day temperature at 45.7 degree Celsius and night temperature at 26.5 degree Celsius and Jabalpur recorded day temperature at 43.6 degree Celsius and night temperature at 30 degree Celsius.
Night temperatures were recorded at normal temperatures and below normal temperatures which is quiet relieving for the harsh weather conditions prevalent for the past 10-12 days across the State.
