The biggest congregation of Muslims, Alami Tablighi Ijtema that began on Saturday would come to an end on Sunday morning with grand mass prayers for world peace and prosperity. Bhopal Ijtema is considered as the most important Muslim congregation of the world.
lakh of people take part in the Ijtema but anyhow the people of Pakistan are never invited in this congregation.
Ijtema also takes place in Bangladesh, every year in the month of February. As many as 30 lakh people take part in the Bangladesh’s Ijtema.
Notably, the Alami Tablighi Ijtema of Bhopal was started in the year 1944 even before the independence. Only 14 people took part in the first Ijtema but over 10 lakh people are taking part in Ijtema, this year.In the word ‘Alami Tablighi Ijtema’, the meaning of Alami is elm or education, Tablighi means to broadcast and Ijtema means gathering the people.
Spokesperson of the Ijtema committee, Atiq-ul-Rehman told that the Ijtema of Bhopal is the oldest Ijtema of all. The Ijtema of Pakistan and Bangladesh started later but Bhopal Ijtema has more importance among all others. Nowadays several countries organize Ijtema but Bhopal Ijtema is the most important one.Various tents have been pitched from the Bhopal talkies to the venue of Ijtema in order to facilitate the people and the jamaats. The venue of Ijtema is converted into a prayer-zone with the religious environment and due to the speeches of the Islamic scholars.
According to the sources, sighting the recent encounter of the SIMI activists, police have strengthened the security of the Ijtema, this year.
The officials of police are continuously inspecting the traffic and the security arrangements at the venue while police personnel are maintaining the vigil through watch towers and the binoculars.
