Known as the heart of Incredible India, Madhya Pradesh is becoming a centre of attraction for many tourists may it be national or international, the State is no far from attracting the tourists to have a look at various natural and heritage sites. Being the State capital, Bhopal also captivates the interest of these tourists where they experience the royalty and culture richness of Madhya Pradesh.
Amazingly, there are various heritage sites and monuments which have lost their identity with the untold stories. The Taj Mahal Palace located besides Taj-ul-Masajid and Minto Hall near Raj Bhavan are the shocking examples of the lost stories of Bhopal. These monuments of heritage sites were never considered to be the travelling places as far as tourism is concerned. Information about these palaces and guest houses built by the Begums of Bhopal is surely available, but as far as travelling is concerned these names are covered with the dust of time.
But interestingly, the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has pondered over these issues and is preparing to convert these sites with a view to promote tourism more in State. While talking to The Pioneer, Managing Director of MPSTDC, Raghwendra Kumar Singh said, “Bhopal is so rich in heritage sites, these historical monuments are located in city in abundance. Being the capital city even earlier as well, Bhopal has always remained a centre of attraction for the tourists.” Elaborating further, he said, “Being ruled by the Nawabs and Begums, Bhopal city contains the richness of architecture and art. Some of them we have preserved with much interest, but some are left just like that.”
While throwing light more about this issue, Singh informed, “Heritage sites including Islam Nagar, Gauhar Mahal, Taj-ul-Masajid and more are often visited places in Bhopal. But, the sites including Minto Hall and The Taj Mahal Palace are in worst condition what anyone can think of. So as per the plan we will renovate these sites considering them as a part of tourist places which will no doubt increase the incoming of various tourist travelers in State.”
Notably, the heritage sites often attract the archeologists from across the globe. Tourists interested in knowing history or interested in architecture craft also visit such sites. Over commenting this, Singh said, “People are unaware of these heritage sites. If one will have a close look at these years old building they will find how beautifully they are crafted with the nakashi. But they are in such a bad condition, the fading walls and paint hides the beauty of its architecture. It is our heritage and so it is important to preserve them”. Adding more to it, he said, “Well, execution to this plan will be taken soon.”
Bhopal is one of the beautiful cities ever known in India. May it be scenic beauty or may it be historical sites, Bhopal always captivates people from across the globe. Maintaining such sites will not increase tourism but will also add more charm to city, he added.
