International Women’s Day was celebrated in a grand way at BHEl, Bhopal. DK Thakur, ED, BHEl, Bhopal graced the function as chief guest whereas Pragya Richa Shrivastav, ADG, Bhopal was invited in the programme as guest of honour.
NishaDubey, former VC, Barkatullah University and HOD, law, was guest speaker, Pratibha Thakur, president, BHEl ladies Club was distinguished guest and Manoj Varma, GM (HR, CMG,PMG & EC) presided over the programme. Besides, all GMs, VPs of BHEl ladies Club and women employees in large numbers witnessed the programme today at Cultural Hall.
Thakur in his address congratulated the gathering and said that women are of course source of inspiration and they are all powerful. He cited how a child inspired by his mother’s affection feels touching the sky. He shared how ratio of women employees to that of their counterpart has gained in BHEl, Bhopal.
Shrivastav in her address highlighted the imbalance in distribution of work between male and female. She said that Woman is the best creature of God and equality is directly related to family. She criticized how only girls are asked to show etiquettes and learn family values whereas there is no such bunding on boys.
Dubey applauded the efforts being made to motivate women by Government and other organisations in all walks of life. But on the contrary, she said that Equality of Gender is still far away. She expressed concern for safety of girls and increasing crimes in our society.
Varma in his address praised various roles of women, their sense of responsibility in home as well as office. He congratulated the members of WIPS, BHEl, Bhopal on the occasion of Women’s day.
Earlier, MamtaDingrocha, President, WIPS welcomed the guests and briefed about activities of WIPS whereas Shikha Saxena presented Annual Report of WIPS. Nishaverma proposed vote of thanks. Women employees were honoured also on this occasion for their outstanding contribution.
