The Archdiocese of Bhopal extended its hands to minimize the effect of the second wave of Covid pandemic when the whole world was shocked to experience its unexpected effect.
The time of April and May 2021 was very crucial for the Archdiocese of Bhopal when we saw its dear ones dying one by one; inability to pay homage was a very painful moment for all, said Archbishop Most Rev Leo Cornelio Svd to the press reporters.
He said that the diocese lost 49 Catholics, one priest and 4 religious sisters in the months of April and May 2021. He further said that the diocese is still helping the pandemic victims with food packages especially when all the family members were affected and struggle for food besides providing food provisions for the marginalized.
Also the diocese helped the poor with hospitality services and paid the medical bills. Among all the services, the people appreciated the diocese for making available the pastoral centre as a quarantine centre for all including free food and doctors' services.
We pray that this type of suffering due to the pandemic may not be repeated in the near future said the Archbishop.
