R Krishnan, Director, HR, BHEl on Friday inaugurated the two days ‘31st Quality Heads Meet’ held at BHEl, Bhopal in association with Corporate Quality division. On this occasion Kishore Purswani, Executive Director, Quality, BHEl; PK Goyal, General Manager, HR, BHEl, Bhopal; AK Sarkar, AGM,CQ; l Gopalkrishnan, General Manager, Quality; DK Dikshit, General Manager, SCR and all General Managers were present. The meet is being attended by senior quality officials from various units of BHEl.
Krishnan addressing the gathering said that BHEl has a reputation for Products as ‘Fit and Forget’. Keeping up with the pace for volume and growth, it is found that the Quality aspect has been getting backseat. He appreciated the On-line Systems developed in the organisation saying that people have to build a domain of Quality within them, self certifying the change. He further referred to cross functional teams to develop a pool of knowledge management. In recent times businesses are being viewed through Vigilance angles in all government bodies and hence BHEl shall have to create its own space amongst competitors, added Krishnan.
Purswani in his address said that Director, HR is very passionate about Quality. He asked the officials to work towards reviving the brand image of BHEl, citing examples of automobile companies who have vanished, failing to keep up pace with the demanding changes of the business environment. He further emphasized towards meeting short delivery project commitments of CMD, giving the call of saying ‘No to Non Conformances.
He also assured Director, HR that by the time Quality Heads Meet conclude, a road map on quality and a common minimum program for future will be formulated. Earlier, Gopalkrishnan in his inaugural address welcoming all said that Quality is not a different function but every action involves Quality. At the end, Goyal proposed the vote of thanks.
