Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), BHEL, Bhopal celebrated International Women’s Day the other day through online platform for the first time. The theme for this year was “The New Normal - Risks and Opportunities”.
The programme began with Bhel Geet with modified version designed and compiled by our internal team of WIPS members. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri C. Ananda, Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal. A.K.Behera, GM (HR) was the Presiding Officer.
Ms Bani Varma, GM (CMD-SCT) was the Guest Speaker for the function. All GMs/DROs and HODs were also part of the program. This time being online, all WIPS members participated in this function from various locations of the factory.
Mamta Dingrocha, Unit Coordinator, WIPS, BHEL, Bhopal welcomed all the dignitaries, guest speaker, senior executives and WIPS members. She gave a brief about various activities carried out by WIPS Bhopal during this year.
A.K.Behera, GM (HR) and Presiding Officer appreciated and congratulated WIPS on the steps being taken by them for empowering women in Public sector.
He said that women now are taking leadership roles not only companies but also in politics.He said that women since ancient times including puranas have been respected in Indian society. He stressed that in order to bring the change one needs to be the change. So we need to start from somewhere and on the way we will get people to support us.
C. Ananda, ED, Bhopal said that God has made women special and they think smartly and are a source of change in society.
He stressed that women should be respected and they are working as partners today. He emphasized that men and women need to work together in today’s challenging times so that we can contribute to build a better society and help in better nation building. Also, he complemented the women workforce of Bhopal unit for working as a team and supporting in carrying out the tasks effectively thereby contributing to company’s growth and development.
E-Magazine consisting of articles of women employees and compiled by our internal team of WIPS members was inaugurated by ED, Bhopal.
Smriti Sharma, Secretary WIPS proposed the Vote of Thanks. Shalini Sharma and Kokila D’Souza compered the programme. WIPS Committee members and senior women executives were also present.
