Rising to the challenge, Hydro division of BHEL Bhopal Unit has successfully repaired the Kaplan Runner (Diameter 4700 mm and Weight 54 Tons) in record time of 15 days for Unit 1 of Sardar Sarovar Canal Head Power House Project.
The repair involved assembly of new runner blades, replacement of broken lever and changing of all the seals and critical hardwares. The runner was assembled and tested under strict quality standards. The runner complete in all respects, was despatched to site on 19th June 2021.
Sardar Sarovar Canal Head Power House Project comprises of 5 units of 50 MW Vertical Kaplan machines. This equipment were supplied by BHEL Bhopal and commissioned between August to December 2004.BHEL capability entails One-Stop solution for Hydro-Electric Power Projects, covering the Development, Engineering, Manufacture, Erection & Commissioning of all equipment of Hydro Power Station including after sales services and spares.
