The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsavmarking the 76th Independence Daywas celebrated at BHEL, Bhopal with traditional fervour. On this occasion, Chief Guest Sushil Kumar Baveja, General Manager & Unit Head, hoisting the national flag greeted the gathering on I-Day. He also accepted salutes from CISF contingent in the program. All generalmanagers, senior officers, union representatives, members of various committees and other employees including Commandant, CISF were also present in the program.
Baveja while paying homage to the freedom fighters who were martyred in the freedom struggle said that this day reminds us of India's glorious history and our achievements and importance as an independent nation."Har Ghar-Tiranga" campaign was celebrated in BHEL, Bhopal too. While praising all the employees and officers, he said that we have to work hard & united to take the organisation to further newer heights. We have to build the BHEL of tomorrow which the future generations can be proud of. All the product groups of BHEL Bhopal have been contributing continuously in the growth of the company. He said that the employees of Bhopal unit are capable and ready to render their excellent services under any circumstances. The need of the hour is that we have to maintain such commitment. Our future depends how we use our today for a better tomorrow.
Earlier, as a part of the celebrations, Sunila Baveja, President, BHELLadies Club, distributed fruits to the patients admitted in Kasturba Hospital. A cultural program was also organized at BHEL, Sanskritik Bhawan in which children of all the schools located in Udyognagari presented a cultural program on the theme of 'Har Ghar Tiranga '.
Later, "All India Mushaira" was organized at BHEL Cultural Bhavan in which renowned poets of Hindi and Urdu world like Zafar Sahbai- Sadarat Bhopal; Naeem Akhtar Khadmi-Burhanpur; Sarwar Kamal- Jhansi; Mannan Faraz-Mumbai; Arifa Shabnam-Agra; Vijay Tiwari 'Vijay' Bhopal and Parveen Kaif- Bhopal presented their compositions. Dr. Arifa Shabnam's composition, 'Ai Watan Ae Watan Meri Jaa, Ai Watan Ai Watan Meri Maa, Tere kadmo mein sau jannate, Tere Daman mein sau Aasma and Naeem Akhter Khadmi Burhanpur's composition"Bas ek arzoo dil mein hain aur kuchh bhi nahi; mera lahu mere khaaq-e watan ke kaam aaye …. enchanted everyone.
