The day November 15 holds a very important place in the history of BHEL, Bhopal as it was on this day in 1958, that the then Union Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Lal Bahadur Shastri laid the foundation stone of the plant.
After independence, considering the urgency of an indigenous company for the manufacture of electrical equipment to promote Indian industries, the foundation of this plant was laid with the courtesy of M/s AEI.
Not only was this factory constructed within just two years of laying the foundation stone, but the production work also started in just two years. The factory was dedicated to the nation on November 06, 1960.
On this occasion, Vinay Nigam, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal sent his best wishes to all the employees and said that the role of BHEL in the industrial development of not only Madhya Pradesh but the entire nation is very important and we should provide more support to this progress cycle.
