The colossal ‘Convention of Welfare Schemes training’ and ‘Beneficiary Honour Programme’ organised at Jamboree ground on the completion of 11 years of tenure as Chief Minister and squandering Rs 100 crore are aimed at personal branding of Chief Minister and far from the welfare schemes of poor, said State Congress president Arun Yadav in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday.

The State Government and State BJP made tall claims of enormous crowd of 7.5 lakh people at Jamboree ground, where all the latest and modern facilities were provided but even after the joint effort by the Government and BJP around 40,000 people participated in the programme. In the process of gathering people and providing transport facility for the people to the programme venue around 12,000 – 15,000 passenger and school buses were acquired causing inconvenience for passengers and students but most of the buses which arrived and left the programme venue were empty, he added.

In the letter Yadav appealed and requested to the CM to practice which he preaches as it would help in achieving broader interest of people and help in the improving political performance.

Criticizing the extravagance spending on the programmes which failed to attract people and address the issues to actually benefit the poor and beneficiaries and proved to be a flop show Yadav demanded every single detail of the expense made over the programme to be made public and not only the expenses should be made public but the details of payment made in cash and cheques and how much cash was paid to each one for organizing the programme.
