Bahuguna's remark unconstitutional: BJP

BJP’s national general secretary and in-charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs, Ananth Kumar has alleged that the decision of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna not to allow any other Chief Minister to move in the flood-hit areas in Uttarakhand is against the Constitution.

While talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Kumar stated that on the one hand, both Bahuguna and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had declined to provide permission to the Chief Ministers of other States to move in the affected areas and on the other, Congress vice president is allowed to move everywhere. "This is not at all justified. This clearly shows that Congress is doing politics over the issue," he added.

Earlier, Kumar said, it had been decided that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would embark on Jan Ashirvad Yatra from July 22 to September 25.

The yatra would commence from Ujjain and conclude at Bhopal, where party workers' convention would be organised on September 25. During this duration, Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan Chouhan would cover all the 230 Assembly constituencies, where more than 1,000 public meetings would be held. Besides, it has been decided that party workers' conventions would be held in more than 1,000 urban and rural centres.

The party workers would have the target of reaching every door with three letters. In the first one, there would be an account of good governance of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the past 10 years, while in the second, 10-year regime of Congress-led by Digvijay Singh would be mentioned along with the step-motherly treatment meted out to the State government by the UPA government during past 10 years.

In the third letter, Kumar said, there would be direct comparison between Congress and the BJP.
