Bagsewania police bust burglary gang, recover stolen goods worth Rs 8 lakh

The Bagsewania police have arrested three burglars, including a minor, involved in a series of thefts across the city. The gang, which primarily targeted unoccupied houses during the daytime, has been linked to multiple burglary cases. Stolen goods worth approximately Rs 8 lakh have been recovered.

Acting on intelligence inputs and surveillance from 200 CCTV cameras, the police successfully traced the suspects. The key accused, Dilip Bhuria, a habitual offender with records in multiple police stations, was found conducting reconnaissance of vacant houses. Bhuria, who had previously served jail time for theft, worked with his accomplices—Ravi Mavi and a minor—to execute the burglaries. While his associates broke into houses to steal valuables, Bhuria would stand guard outside.

The breakthrough came under the guidance of Police Station Incharge Amit Soni, with police tracking Bhuria to Surat, Gujarat. A team was dispatched, leading to his arrest. During interrogation, Bhuria confessed to the crimes and provided information about his accomplices.

Recovered stolen items include a diamond necklace, a pair of diamond earrings, a gold chain, and the vehicle used in the crimes. The police are continuing their investigation to recover additional stolen goods and solve related burglary cases.

The arrested burglars have been charged under relevant sections of theft and criminal conspiracy, and legal proceedings are underway. The operation was led by Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra and Additional Police Commissioner Awadhesh Kumar Goswami, with the primary objective of curbing burglary incidents in the city.
