The badminton players are exhibition an impressive show at the district badminton open tournament. On Thursdays the semi-finals were played between the players from across the State.
It is to be noted that the badminton tournament is being played at TT Nagar Stadium to observe the National Sports Day. The national sports day is observed to mark the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand.
Here on Thursday, each player gave a tough fight to its opponent. The matches were played under 10, under 15, under 17 and under 19 categories. It is to be noted further that as many as 400 badminton players of the city have participated in the tournament and are showcasing their brilliancy in the game.
During the semi final round the players performed outstandingly. To begin with the matches, the matches were first played for the female categories. At the semi final round category player Priyanka Panth made a place in finals by defeating Kavya by 21-10, 21-7 point under 15 category.
Similarly, under 17 category Aditi Verma made a place in finals by defeating Yashika Tiwari by 21-3, 21-1 points. In the quarter final round a match for under 13 category female was played. In this match Garima Sapre gave a tough fight to Gauranshi and entered the semi-final round by scoring 15-14,15-18 points.
later, matches under boys category was played. The first quarter final was played under 13 category wherein player Vedant defeated Sidhant Gupta by 11-15, 15-10 points.
Further a semi final round under 10 category was played between Tuvan and Harshul wherein Yuvan won with 15-4, 15-10 points. In same match Ishan won by 15-2, 15-6 points. Besides, under 17 category Raman Baresia defeated Aman Soni by 21-10, 21-14 points. Similarly the players under 19 categry played really well at the tournament.
The semi final will be further played on Friday and the final round will be played on Saturday.
