Home and Jail Minister Babulal Gaur undertook a surprise inspection of Talaiya police station here on Saturday and directed to improve arrangements. He said that he is not satisfied with arrangements at this police station.

Gaur reached Talaiya police station at 7 pm through busiest areas. The police station staff was unaware of the Minister's arrival. He climbed up staircase to the police station and reached directly to the room of police station in-charge. Police station in-charge T Sapre was not present there.

Gaur asked Salma Bi, a woman standing there, the reason for visiting the police station. The woman informed that she has come to the police station following arrest of her husband. By then, the police station staff had come to know that the person talking to the woman is Home and Jail Minister Gaur. Soon after entering room the police station in-charge, Gaur asked for Duty Register. Daily Diary (Roznamcha), Duty Register and other documents were presented to Gaur belatedly. Gaur said that register is incomplete. He said that attendance should be noted down immediately. He is extremely dissatisfied. This tendency shows negligence and indifference. He also sought information about beat duty of police station staff.

Taking serious note of encroachments on footpaths, Gaur said that it is due to lack of patrolling that encroachments are coming up on roadside footpaths. He said that lethargy and indifference on the part of staff posted in police stations will not be tolerated. Gaur also wrote his comment about arrangements on register.
