Additional PCCF Azad Singh Dabas, who is contesting the elections for the post of president in Indian Forest Services (IFS) officers association (Madhya Pradesh chapter), has sought clarification from the PCCF Narendra Kumar on few points related to the association election.

The election for the post of president in the association is scheduled on October 16. There are two officials in the fray including Dabas and Addl PCCF lM Belwal.

Ironically, before the elections for the association, the officials have already decided other office-bearers of the new association. The posts of vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and four regional representatives have already been decided, besides election of 16 members unopposed.

While talking to The Pioneer, Dabas said that he has submitted a query related to the elections with PCCF Narendra Kumar in which he has sought to know whether the elections are being held under the rules and regulations. “Since, the election has been scheduled on working day, it is for sure that several members of the association, working outside Bhopal would not be able to vote,” he said, adding that it should have been scheduled on Sunday.

He further said that the IFS officials are enthusiastic over the agenda he has decided for the welfare of IFS officials and safety of jungles in Madhya Pradesh. He has objected to the process adopted for the election, as there is no provision for postal ballot.

In case, the process as per rules and regulations are not being adopted, Dabas has suggested canceling the election on October 16 and deciding it on some other suitable date.
