The Madhya Pradesh Government on Thursday admitted in the Assembly that Adani Wilmar limited has encroached upon government land at Dahendi and Kisoni villages in Shajapur district. Raising the matter during the Question Hour, Arif Aqueel of main opposition Congress said the regime has admitted in its written reply that the company concerned has encroached upon government land.
He sought to know the reason for the dispensation not being able to remove encroachment. In his reply, Revenue Minister Rampal Singh assured that encroachment would be removed within three months. He stressed that certain procedures need to be followed or else people move to court in such cases. However, Aqueel urged to reduce the time limit following which Singh agreed to remove the encroachment within two months. In its written reply, the Government had admitted that the company concerned had encroached upon government land and a fine of Rs 1,500 was imposed on it.
