Attacks on activists don't perturb Ajay Dubey

Whistleblower Ajay Dubey does not have any sort of fear despite the growing attacks on activists across the country and also in the State in recent past.

Dubey, a known Rights and Wildlife activist from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal is also a member of Transparency International and secretary of Prayatna environmental action group. He is MA in English and has also done MBA but never looked for job and decided to take on the corruption and the corrupt directly. Among the major issues that he has raised affectively include conservation of tigers besides exposing many issues through RTI including interference of Government in police department, role of RSS Pracharaks recommendation letters in Public Service Commission and others in that he stands against the Government.

Dubey does not fear for life as he has strong belief in god and considers that those who attack on whistleblowers are in fact coward people who do not have the guts to face the reality.

Dubey, who always remains at loggerheads with the Government at one or the other issue while talking to The Pioneer said, “I raise only those issues that are in the interest of people or the ones through that harm is done to the wildlife. It’s almost one and a half decade since I got involved in activism and the fears and inhibitions that I used to have in the earlier days does not bother me now.”

Dubey further said, “I utilise the tool of Right To Information (RTI) given as right to the people of country by the constitution to deliver smooth flawless services to the people of the country. We had arguments and sometimes hot talks with the Government officials but in the last neither we keep those things in mind nor do those officials take that at heart and this is the beauty of democracy.”

He said that when he started working on the conservation of tigers than many influential persons having money and muscle power tried to eliminate him either by buying his conscious or using other ways but every time god helped me and those people did not got success in their sinister designs.

The wildlife activist is proud that the Supreme Court has passed a structure over conservation of tigers in the country in response to his plea that is precedent in conservation of the striped feline in the country. The Government of India implemented this order of July 2012 and core and buffer zones were notified in all the tiger reserves of the country, conservation plan was formulated and local area committees were constituted in all the tiger reserves of the country. “This is a big achievement and I am proud of this,” he added.
