The 12 kilometer long BRTS which starts from Rajiv Gandhi square Indore till Niranjanpur has 21 bus stands. In Indore BRTS corridor is divided in three lanes the centre lane is used for the movement of city buses both ways and the two other lanes of the BRTS are used for other vehicles like car, bikes and other private buses and is one way.

The centre lane which is used for the movement of only city buses is two ways and it has around 21 bus stands. The bus stands are fully covered from all the sides and the gate of the bus stand opens when the bus stops in front of the gate of the bus stand and it automatically closes after the departure of the buses.

Every bus stand has got a ticket window, a security guard. The centre lane of the BRTS where this city buses ply are covered with high iron railings from both the sides no other vehicle and even other pedestrian can enter into this middle lane where only the city buses ply.

More than 1 lakh passengers travel daily in around 80 buses which is continuously plying on this middle lane of BRTS. It takes around minimum 45 minutes for the city buses to reach Niranjanpur square from Rajivgndhi square and vice versa.

The passengers are especially the old people, women, children and college going students. The old people, children and the patients generally feel very difficult as there is no bathroom and wash room on any of the 21 bus stands. It becomes very difficult for them to tolerate the absence of bathroom and washrooms during their journey or while waiting for the buses on bus stands.

The Indore BRTS administration has given the space for banks ATM to earn revenue near the bus stands on the middle lane of BRTS but they do not understand the problems of more than 1 lakh passengers who daily travel on this BRTS. CEO AICTl Indore Sandeep Soni told The Pioneer that we will look into the matter.
