Asif Jahan, wife of well known personality of the State Capital Hafiz Ullah Khan aka Nawab Miyan of Bombay Stores and mother of Reliable Group Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sikandar Hafiz Khan, was laid to rest here on Thursday at the Royal graveyard located near Model Ground. She breathed her last on Wednesday after prolonged illness. Her last prayer (namaz-e-janaza) was led by renowned Islamic scholar Peer Saeed Miyan at Taj-ul-Masajid.
A large number of people from all walks of life participated in her last journey that started from the residence of Reliable Group Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sikandar Hafiz Khan 'Junagarh House' in Koh-e-Fiza at 9.30 am and reached Taj-ul-Masajid where her last prayer was offered at 10 am and then she was laid to rest at the Royal graveyard located near Model Ground. Eminent personalities of the city who attended the funeral included Shahar Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi, Bhopal North MlA Arif Aqueel, Madhya Pradesh
Waqf Board Chairman Shokat Mohammed Khan, noted Urdu poet Manzar Bhopali, former MlA Ramesh Sharma Guttu, Syed Sajid Ali advocate, Bhopal District Congress Committee President PC Sharma many Corporators of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and others. Notably, Asif Jahan was suffering with bad health for a long time and doctors declared her death on Wednesday evening. She was 85 years old. She has left behind three sons and three daughters.
