ASub Inspector (SI) posted with Habibganj police station was on Monday suspended after a video went viral in which the police officer was seen requesting pardon from a victim. The ASI was suspended based on the prima facie evidences against him, said SP (South) Bhopal Rahul Kumar lodha and shied away from sharing details of the incident.
ASI Bahadur Singh Patel was found pleading in a video which went viral on Monday and later attracted his suspension in the evening.TSP South Rahul Kumar lodha said that prima facie findings led to the suspension and enquiry would be conducted regarding the incident by concerned officer assigned with the job. In the enquiry if others are found involved action would be taken against them too.CSP Habibganj Bhupendra Singh would look into the matter.
Earlier, ASI Patel along with a woman constable went to a house of victim Aman in Rohit Nagar late in the night on Sunday and introduced themselves as crime branch personnel and told Aman that they have information that he was involved in illegal weapons trade and has a pistol in his house.The police personnel broke mobile phone to avoid victim’s making call and inform someone and later they made a deal of Rs 50000 for not taking any action against him and without even searching house for the pistol the two returned with Rs 50000 cash. later, it was found that the police personnel were from Habibganj police station.
