Urjaa Guru Arihant Rishi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad mentor, Jitendranand Saraswati and other ascetics have demanded ban on liquor and mutton shops within the city. The saints earlier decided to observe ‘fast unto death’ but now they changed it to observing serial fasting due to election period.
The Saints decided to go on serial fast in a meeting in which Kushagranandji Maharaj, Digvivjaydas maharaj, Vishadas, Vedantdas and other saints were present. According to Urjaa Guru Arihant Rishi ji, a signature campaign will also be launched in which the supporters of the demand will sign a memorandum which will be sent to the President, Prime minister, Governor and the Chief Minister of the State.
Urjaa Guru Arihant Rishiji said that we did the hunger strike so that our demands could reach Government’s ears. We have spoken to many Government officials but because of the code of conduct going on right now, no one is in a position to take any decision.
Now, we have decided that serial fasting will be done by the devotees all over India during the election period and after that, we will meet with the higher authorities. If they do not meet our demand, then we will go on agitation.
