State Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria on Thursday alleged that self proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu’s showy sainthood won’t be able to save his skin from allegations of rape with a minor in Rajasthan.
Bhuria said, “Asaram has got so much frightened with his fresh sin that he is giving baseless statements randomly in order to divert the attention of people from his misdeed.”
The former Union Minister further said that Asaram was saying that he had been wrongly implicated in rape case on the directives of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, whereas Asaram who was involved in many criminal activities, knew very well that his deeds were responsible for the crisis…no one has implicated him including Gandhis’.
The Congress leader said that if he proclaimed to be a saint then he should introspect, he would get the real answer that no one has landed him in soup, it was he himself and his weaknesses within him which were responsible for his plight. His statements showed that for hiding one’s sin he was out to tell a hundred lies. He should now understand that the heinous crime like rape could not get hide by false statements, he added.
The statement of Bhuria, which issued here on Thursday said that Asaram untold wealth spread all over the country under the cover of religious discourses and it was the strength of this wealth that was making him arrogant and he has started considering himself above the law, constitution and the Government and has started challenging law. The day cloak of so called saint would be robbed off him his condition would be worse than a coon man, the statement said.
