Madhya Pradesh Congress President Arun Yadav on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify the Centre's stance on issues raised by four Supreme Court judges during a press conference in New Delhi and demanded immediate resignation of Union law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Yadav described the alleged 'misuse of power' in judiciary as a dangerous indication.
He reiterated the demand for investigation into the mysterious death of Central Bureau of Investigation Judge BH loya, who was investigating into the Sohrabuddin encounter case.
Notably, four Supreme Court judges on Friday morning came out against the Chief Justice of India, saying that events in the Supreme Court left them with no choice but to address the nation. Justice J Chelameshwar said the administration of the nation's top court was not in order.
He said this was an extraordinary event in the history of the institution, and that they were compelled to act in this way because the Chief Justice could not be persuaded to mend the ways of the court. "We met CJI this morning. We collectively tried to persuade CJI that certain things aren't in order so take remedial measures but unfortunately our efforts failed," said Justice Chelameswar.
