The city of lakes has created a new niche for itself in the field of art across the world. The artists of the city work with all diligence and hard work to showcase their best skills to the art lovers and contribute in the artistic field. But, as a consequence the artists receive nothing as they expect to get,” said a noted and renowned theatre artiste of the city Rajesh Bhadoria.

Rajesh, while talking to the mediapersons here on Thursday said, “As the artists give everything to their work, still they feel a sense of insecurity throughout their career. There is no support given by the Government to the actors or other theatre artists so the Artist Welfare Society, Bhopal will organise a theatre festival to contribute in the welfare of the theatre artists and also to collect the funds for the future endeavours.”

While elaborating further, Bhadoria said, “There are many organisations working for different causes, but no particular organisation was working for the welfare of the theatre artists, for their rights and for their benefit. The Artist Welfare Society, Bhopal is formed to give a sense of security to the artists as well as to make them realise all their rights.”

Notably, the Artist Welfare Society would not only provide security to the theatre artists, but would also provide a helping hand in case of injuries, death, disease or accident. To provide financial stability to the artists in such uncertain situations, it is important to collect the appropriate funds, said Rajesh Bhadoria further. “For this purpose we are organising a theatre festival from November 5 to November 8 to be held at Bharat Bhavan,” he added.

The fest would begin with one of the hit plays by Rajesh Bhadoria ‘Kanyadaan’ on November 5, followed with Manoj Nair’s play ‘Box’ on November 6. On November 7, KG Trivedi’s ‘Bhook Aag Hai’ would be staged. The fest would conclude with the play ‘Chhuti’ by Niti Shrivastava on November 8.

Notably, various renowned artist of the city like KG Trivedi, Niti Shrivastava, Sanjay Shrivastava and others are associated with the association. Rajesh further said, “More contribution is expected by the art lovers of the city.”
