The art lovers of the city are witnessing a rare world of nature in a ceramic exhibition being exhibited by a young ceramist of the city Suchita Rai.
Displaying the connectivity between nature and human beings, she has put up her first solo exhibition ‘Khoj’ at Rangdarshini Gallery, Bharat Bhavan. The city artist has given an enchanting touch to the wet clay and has molded it the way she wants.
While talking to The Pioneer, Suchita said, “I have titled the exhibition as Khoj as all the works being displayed here were created from my individual thought. I usually work keeping in mind the beauty of nature and so I have created different forms of ceramics in past one year.”
Deeply inspired by nature by all aspects, her work defines the unique imagery power of an artist that could easily catch an eye of the spectator. Nature has been her guiding force and she has portrayed it in all magnificent forms, while maintaining the delicate balance between the reality and creativity.
Notably, through her clay work, she has engaged herself in an endavour of self discovery. Showcasing the charm of green leaf dipped in water, busy bees making a bee hive, dancing bee on a blossoming flower, she has satisfied her artistic perceptions in a certain way.
While talking about her love for ceramic, she said, “I had an interest to do something in the art field since I was a kid. But as I grew I did not get a sturdy platform and then I joined Bharat Bhavan’s Ceramic Studio and practiced the ceramic art by myself.” Elaborating about her self-discovery, she said, “As I have practiced my skills to make them better I do not follow a single theme and work with free thoughts.”
As one sees her creations it becomes clear that she enjoys her work and completes it while putting a lot of enthusiasm. She is also interested into pottery and leaf work. She has displayed her pottery work along with the ceramics in the gallery.
One would find a sense of peace as the spectator walks through the gallery having a look at the woks created with the rare thoughts. The exhibition would conclude on December 29.
