To provide safe and secure atmosphere for Muslims in the month of Ramzan which started from Saturday district police have made arrangements in the Old city area by deploying around 250 police teams to vigil outside mosques and 2500 police personnel.
Arrangements for observing the holy month of Ramzan in peace and harmony police have made arrangements in the Old city areas.
SP Bhopal (North) Arvind Saxena said that in view of late night prayers being offered by the devout for the entire month, the mosque committees have been asked by the police department to deploy volunteers near the parking lots whereas according to sources 245 police parties have been pressed into service to keep special vigil outside mosques. Support from the mosque committees have been sought for maintaining proper parking which creates problems for the commuters and people coming for offering prayer at mosque especially in the evening and late night prayers.
The anti-social elements try to create problems and special attention has been paid for women shopping in the evening and night in the old city market and to provide protection woman constables would be deployed in the busy market places, he added.
The heavy vehicles entry would be banned till 4 am for the month of Ramzan and failing to follow orders would attract penalty.
The in-charge of all police stations in the city have been instructed to remain till 1:30 am in the night at their respective police stations during the month. The instructions were given at a meeting at Police Control Room.
