Arif Masood urges SE to end power cuts during Ramadan

Perturbed over undeclared power cuts during the month of holy Ramadan, a delegation of the Congress workers led by former State Congress spokesman Arif Masood called on Superintendent Engineer (SE) of Madhya Region Power Supply Company on Thursday and handed over a memorandum to him urging to end these power cuts.

Masood told the SE that the holy month of Ramadan has started from June 29 and since then the people of the State capital are facing undeclared power cuts. The common man and those who are fasting in the holy month are upset with these power cuts especially during the nights due to that people face difficulties in the extreme hot weather conditions, he added.

Masood further said that the power cuts are also causing problems in the water supply as the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) supplies water on every alternate day but due to the power cuts at the time of water supply people are not able to store water and BMC too could not fill its sump tanks resulting in difficulties for BMC to supply water in colonies. So the power cuts are resulting in double whammy for the city residents as on the one hand they are upset over power cuts and on the hand they are also facing problems in getting water due to the power cuts, he added.

He said that the power cuts are also affecting the small traders and industries hence these undeclared power cuts should immediately be stopped.
