Archbishop of Bhopal leo Cornelio has expressed strong objection to the case registered against the Catholic nun in Satna. A nun coming to Bhopal from Jharkhand three days ago, along with four girls, based on the complaint of an organisation were taken to custody from the train taken. The nun was charged with accusation that she is taking the girls for conversion purpose.
Archbishop refuted all charges saying that all allegations levelled against the nun are baseless and inspired by prejudice. A Catholic nun leaves her house and dedicates her whole life to serve the voiceless, both rural and urban has to undergo great humiliation in the society is a matter of concern.
All the girls were familiar with the nun. Nun's aim was only to bring those girls to Bhopal for good education in order to uplift them for better employment opportunity. Among them, an alleged girl was being said to be a minor. But all the girls coming with nun were adults, and with the permission of their families, they were to coming to Bhopal for studies.
As far as the allegation on conversion is concerned, it is false and baseless. Nobody can do such unethical work against anyone's wishes. Archdiocese strongly condemns such kinds of act, he added. The aim of missionary institutions is not only to uplift Christians, but it is committed to the upliftment and welfare of every section of the society. If needed, we will take a step of demonstration against it said Archbishop.
