Archbishop of Bhopal leo Cornelio expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents and suicides by students in the city.
While talking to media persons here on Saturday, he said that he was concerned over the increasing number of road accidents in the city. In these accidents mostly young students are involved, a matter of concern.
Administration must take concrete steps to avert such accidents, he said, asking people to follow traffic rules. “Traffic conditions in the city need to be improved,” he added.
Cornelio also expressed concern over the trending case of suicide among the students. He said that parents should not force their children for more grades. Parents should not load their expectation above the capacity of the children.
Further, he stated that policies for the upliftment of minorities are not executing properly. The paper work for these policies is very lengthy that minorities especially Christians are not able to get its advantages.
Speaking on the rail budget, he congratulated the Union Rail Ministry for approving Habibganj Station to be developed as a world class station with modem amenities. He further added that Union Budget is somewhat satisfactory, but said that increase in service tax may lead to inflation. This budget disappoints the minorities as it has no provisions for minority community.
