Disabled Vijay Sharma (35) from Obaidullaganj in Raisen district was freed from the unbearable pains and other complexities due to stone in his left kidney at the 79th urology camp at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bhopal.
Both his legs had already been amputated due to gangrene ten years back. He has since been working at a Dhaba with his artificial legs earning a meager Rs 5,000 per month. Vijay informed that he got his right kidney operated upon at a private hospital in the state capital two months back. For this he had to mobilize Rs 40,000 for the surgery. But immediately he came to know that he had a stone in his left kidney too.
Vijay had no means to mobilize funds for another surgery, so he decided to defer it. later when he came to learn about the free urology camp at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital he came and got the surgery free of cost under the supervision of urologist from USA Dr Amar Singh. He was successfully operated upon.
A volunteer of SSEH assigned to take care of Vijay broke into tears to see the miseries of the disabled person and other patients at the camp. When asked he said, “I forgot my own pains to see the miseries of others.”
Notably, the urology camp is being organized by the hospital in which patients from Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Indore, Harda, Rajgarh, Shajapur and out of the State are approaching in large number for their treatment.
