Another Min shows adamant attitude towards schoolchildren

Published on:

After the incident of Animal Husbandry Minister Kusum Mehadele kicking a child, another incident of Minister being insensitive has come to fore when School Education Minister Paras Jain expressed adamant attitude towards schoolchildren here.

This incident was reported in a school in Gwalior putting question marks on the inhuman attitude of the State Ministers. School Education Minister Jain visited the Kampu Padam Girls’ School for inspection. During inspection, he asked the students of the school to perform the Suryanamaskar.

Apart from this, he also asked the students many irrelevant questions that a Minister should not have asked. The most shocking was that when the Minister made the students to perform Suryanamaskar, despite the fact that the students were not in proper uniform; neither were there proper facilities. Moreover the place where the children performed the namaskar was awfully dirty. But the children had no

option but to follow the harsh orders of the Minister.

While the children, smeared in dirt and mud performed the Suryanamaskar, the Minister along with leaders of BJP were enjoying the plight of the children. To add insult to injury, the Minister gave Rs 100 each to the children who were covered with mud and dirt. BJP District president and GDA Chairman, Abhaya Chowdhary, DEO AK Upadhyay and Principal Pushpa Dhody were mute spectators to this insensitive act. According to Yoga and educational experts, there are proper norms and procedures to be followed when the Suryanamaskar is performed. But the Minster did not know or did not bother to consider that this act was not only insensitive but also illegal. The act of the school education minister has become a big debating point among the educationalists and intellectuals of the city.
