A pleasant, sunny, winter morning set the stage for the Annual Sports Meet for Mercury Army Primary School at Raman Training Ground of MCTE. The function started with welcome of chief guest, Anupam Panwar, Chairperson FWO, MCTE. The meet was declared open by lighting the traditional torch and releasing balloons with the mascot of sports meet.
Alka Dhody, principal of MAPS, read out the annual report describing the events and achievements of the current academic session and also highlighted the new infrastructural planning. The theme of the sports day being ‘Five Element Symphony in Nature’, the children performed an array of Musical Drills and Mass PT based on the five elements.
The show began with synchronised March Past by four houses followed by Musical Drill in which 200 children performed together on their respective element’s music. Dressed up in pure white and colourful drapes, the children of Pre-Primary were looking like little angels on Earth. It was followed by a set of interesting races like Rising Dawn, Spirit of Air, Voyage of life and Jewel of Nature. Aerobics and Yoga performed by our tiny tots was highly appreciated by the audience. The children of MAPS were actually like defenders of Mankind and participated in some races like Beacon of light, Essence of life, Cleaning Ganges, Wonders of Nature, Sapling planting etc and made all the guests mesmerized.
Sapna Sharma and Pooja Vohra kept the audience enthralled with their flawless n’ smooth conduct of the programme.
