Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Anna Utsav will be celebrated on 7th day of every month. On this day, poor persons will be provided wheat and iodised salt at Re 1 per kg and rice at Rs 2 per kg. Chouhan has also directed the divisional commissioners and district collectors to ensure that the poor get their quota of food grains. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a gathering at the launch function of Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana's second phase here on Monday.

He said he would ensure that there were no poor people in the State. Big cities would be developed in the state and simultaneously the poor people would be provided with all facilities.

He said Rs 1,000 crore would be spent on Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana. The Government had held panchayats of every section of society and chalked out schemes as per their requirements. He said that arrangements of scholarships, free uniforms and cycles have been made for students. All citizens should educate their children.
