The young photographers of the State showcased a disappointing participation in a photography contest organised by Alliance Francaise de Bhopal in collaboration with the Alliance Francaise headquarters Paris.
Notably, the contest is a State-level photography competition that was organised at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal on December 7. Amazingly only seven photographers from across the State sent their entries at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal for the exhibition.
The Alliance Francaise de Bhopal invited the photographs clicked by amateur photographers of Madhya Pradesh on the topic ‘The World Is a Playground’. Accordingly, the selected photographs had to be displayed on the scheduled day i.e. December 7 at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal’s Art Gallery. But, only 14 photographs on the theme arrived with only seven participants in total from across the State.
Out of these participants Ashmita Das from Bhopal won the first prize. Ashmita wonderfully worked on the games played by every individual during his or her childhood. In one of her photographs two children are playing with the marbles on a road side and in other picture she has clicked a view where a little girl is walking on a rope with a stick and balancing herself. Her photographs would let the spectator to revive the memories of childhood.
Notably, the winner selected by this Jury of the Foundation in Paris will be awarded travel and expenses for a one-week stay in Paris. She will also be entitled to a personal exhibition of their work in the French capital.
Notably, this contest has taken place worldwide in Alliances Françaises from every continent and has been organized by the headquarters of the Alliances Françaises in Paris (Foundation Alliance Française) since 2010. This contest aims at showing the cultural diversity of the different countries where Alliances Françaises are located and to give a chance to amateur photographers to gain more visibility. last year 167 Alliances françaises of 74 countries from 5 continents participated in the contest.
Unfortunately, the photographers from State exhibited a poor participation and according to the sources, the authorities of the Alliance Francaise de Bhopal are disappointed seeing such a sportsman spirit. Noticeably, the exhibition is put up at the gallery with displaying 14 photographs. The exhibition would be on view till the next week of December.
