Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the Collectors-Commissioner Conference said that results of progress, development and public welfare will come only through our coordinated efforts. This is our mutual luck that we have got such an important responsibility, through which we can change the lives of the people.

We have to work for the betterment of the people of the state without wasting a moment. Each one of us has to be continuously active for the development of the state and public welfare with all our energy, ability and thoughtfulness with the feeling of giving our best, yearning and pain. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the inaugural session of the Collector-Commissioner Conference which took place offline after almost three years. Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, all commissioners and collectors of major departments including Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were present in the conference held at Mantralaya.

In the conference, Vikas Yatra, PESA Rules 2022, Mukhya Mantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, development of unauthorized colonies in urban areas, Jal Jeevan Mission, CM Rise School, ongoing efforts to reduce infant and maternal mortality, Ayushman Bharat Niramay Madhya Pradesh, Public Distribution System, Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, distribution of artificial limbs and equipment to the differently abled and implementation of Sambal-2 Yojana were reviewed. Chouhan said that positive results will be achieved in the field of development and public welfare only by the efforts of the officers working in the districts. Indore Collector has done a commendable job in public hearing, Sehore Collector in starting smart classes with the help of teachers and Dindori Collector in sensitivity towards public grievances and their quick redressal. In other districts of the state also, collectors are innovating at their own level.

Officers generally work as District Collectors for a period of 6 to 8 years in their career. Work in mission mode during this period with full diligence, enthusiasm, ability to face obstacles and vision in such a way that this period gives you lifetime satisfaction and your tenure is remembered positively.

Chouhan said that state is moving towards continuous development. The growth rate of the state, the contribution of the state in Capita Income and GSDP has increased continuously. A positive image of the state has been created in the country and the world. The collector-commissioner is the representative of the government in the district and divisions. Your performance will reflect on the image of governance. In a democracy, our aim is the welfare of the people and to give them a better life. The residents of the state should get the benefits of the schemes without any hassle within the time-limit and the work related to their administration should be done easily, this is good governance. We need to maintain the necessary vigilance and caution to ensure good governance in our respective areas.

For a better image, negative news should be immediately refuted and prompt action should be taken. This conference has been called for the purpose of discussion on how we can do our work better. Attend the meeting in a stress-free manner and the officers should give their suggestions on the innovations that have been made in the districts in relation to schemes and programmes to make them and the schemes more beneficial and their implementation more effective.
