In an open letter written to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of Opposition Ajay Singh dared him to disclose information about property acquired by himself and his relatives from 2006 to 2013 to substantiate his claims of having a clean image.
Addressing the Chief Minister, Singh States in the letter, “On one hand, you claim yourself to be a clean politician while on the other, people talk about the wealth amassed by your brother, nieces and in-laws. In order to end this apparent contradiction, and also to put a full stop to these talks of corruption by your relatives, you should make public the property possessed by them.”
Naming the relatives of the CM, the Opposition leader has demanded that the details of their properties should be made public including the following information- whether they filled income-tax return in year 2003, how much of property was held by them in 2003, the exact amount of income tax filed by them in 2012-23 and the occupation in which they are engaged.
Singh has requested Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to make him available the details of the information sought by him.
In a related development, Singh welcomed the enquiry initiated by lokayukta on a complaint of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders against him. He said that this would expose the conspiracies hatched by BJP leaders to trap him. “In the same way, lokayukta should also take up the complaints pending against 14 BJP ministers for a long time,” he noted.
Singh said that he would cooperate with the lokayukta for timely completion of the enquiry. He also informed that he has already filed a case of defamation against the BJP leaders who have raised false allegations against him.
