Disproving the allegations of leader of Opposition Ajay Singh in the State Assembly premises that real culprits in the Swiss woman rape case had not been arrested, the police on Tuesday handed over the Swiss national's belongings, which were looted on Friday night, to the rape-victim's husband.
Singh had told media persons that the laptop and mobile phones recovered during investigations were not the ones looted from the couple. However, the rape victim's husband on Tuesday identified his belongings and took them away.
DIG Dilip Arya told The Pioneer that the victim's husband had arrived here by Shatabdi Express and identified his belongings in the presence of Basai tehsildar Deepak Kumar Shukla. Arya said the Swiss national operated the laptop using his password in the presence of the magistrate.
Notably, for the last two days, Ajay Singh has been demanding CBI probe into the incident alleging that the police had failed to solve the case and that the actual culprits were moving free.
