Ajay Singh lashes out at BJP Govt

Published on:

leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh lashed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the State for failing to safeguard the honour of women in wake of the incident of gang-rape with a Swiss woman in Datia on Saturday.

“Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should provide gun and licence to every woman of the State as his Government has failed to safeguard the honour of women folk in the State,” Ajay Singh demanded here on Sunday.

“Apart from the case of the Swiss woman, the way rapes have occurred at Indore, Shajapur, Shahdol, Shivpuri and Panna apart from other crimes in last two days, clearly shows that the BJP Government is not only unable to prevent crime, it is also incapable of protecting women’s honour and has completely surrendered to the rapists,” Singh said.

“The only way women can protect themselves and their daughters is that the Government provides licenced gun to every women for self-protection. The Government has become completely shameless. It has no concern that the women are losing their honour everyday in the State. If it had any shame, the Chief Minister would have resigned by now,” he added.

“The Chief Minister who claims of making the State number one, has made it number one in rapes and has destroyed its image in the whole world,” Ajay alleged.

The Opposition leader will also stage dharna in Datia on Monday in protest against the rising rate of atrocities against women in the State. The Congress legislators are also likely to raise the Datia gang-rape incident in the Assembly on Monday demanding explanation from the Government about deteriorating law and order situation.
