Tired with the continued oft-repeated allegations by Opposition leader Ajay Singh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan charged the former as ‘arrogant’ and someone who was not interested in the development of his own constituency.
Speaking in a public gathering here as a part of his ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatra’ on Saturday, the Chief Minister disclosed that the Congress leader had never come to see him in connection with any development in his constituency.
Churhat, Ajay’s constituency, has been a Congress stronghold for long.
Referring to Ajay’s allegation that Chouhan had once vowed not to marry, but later broke the vow, the Chief Minister said, “I want to know if Ajay was personally present at the place where I took the so-called vow. Congress leaders are suffering from Chouhan-phobia, so much so that they see me even in their dreams.”
He claimed that when Congress was in power, farmers got electricity only three hours a day, while now it was available round-the-clock.
Chouhan continuing his tirade against the opposition Congress said that he was ready to give account of his 10 year rule of the State and asked the main opposition party to furnish accounts for its 50 year rule over the State.
Chouhan, while addressing public meetings during his ongoing Jan Ashirwad Yatra in the Vindhya region of the State, also attacked senior Congress leader Sriniwas Tiwari and said when small things could not have been done without his will than why did not the development of the area take place. The pending projects of the Vindhya region including Band Sagar and Gulab Sagar got completed during the tenure of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule. The incomplete work of Bargi canals is also getting completed, benefitting thousands of farmers. With the functioning of these canals the farmers of the Vindhya would surely beat the farmers of Punjab in farming, he added.
