Ajay Singh demands CBI inquiry into firms

Congress leader and the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s former leader of the opposition Ajay Singh on Saturday demanded a CBI inquiry vis-a-vis Income Tax (IT) searches on a group of industries.

“The facts that came to light in the wake of the raids have exposed another mega scam committed with connivance of influential people in the Government. The names of all serving and former ministers besides persons in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party organisation who find mention in the documents seized should be made public. I urge the IT Commissioner to convene a Press conference and place the details before the public,” he alleged in a statement.

He demanded from the Income Tax Commissioner that to avoid working under political pressure over these raids he should call press conference and tell the facts of it to the people.

Singh also demanded state Health and Family Welfare Minister Narottam Mishras resignation in the context of more than 30 persons being in danger of losing vision owing to infection following cataract surgery at the Barwani District Hospital.

“The episode exposed the ramshackle condition of the health system in which the common man reposes little faith. The direct responsibility is that of the Minister,” the Congress leader averred.

He said that now it is known to one and all in the state that the chief minister sheds crocodile tears over every tragedy in the state and sacrifices small people while saves the big fishes involve in such cases.A
