leader of the Opposition in the State assembly Ajay Singh has questioned the criterion of taking back the expelled party leaders back in Congress.
While talking to media persons here on Friday, Singh supported the cause of former parliamentarian Meenakshi Natrajan, saying that Rajendra Singh Gautam, who had contested election against Natrajan overlooking party guidelines should have not been taken back.
Gautam has recently been appointed member in the Coordination committee of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).
Singh stated that there should be a criterion for taking back the expelled leaders. Talking about Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi, Singh said he had backstabbed by quitting the party and supporting the ruling BJP while the House was in progress and Choudhary was as Deputy leader of the Opposition in the State assembly.
However, PCC Chief Kamal Nath had on Thursday while addressing media persons categorically said that opposition by any one of few persons would overlooked, if the party decides anybody to take back any leaders in the party fold.
Ajay Singh further said that two phases of his Nyay Yatra (Justice March) have already completed and the third one would commence from May 29. To a query, he stated that he has already intimated the PCC Chief regarding his yatra and Nath has already directed the party leaders in different blocks and districts to extend support to the yatra.
Talking about former PCC Chief Arun Yadav, Singh stated that his annoyance over his sudden removal as party president was natural. He said he has met Yadav recently, but declined to divulge the subject of discussions between the two.
